On the “People front”, apart the usual employee engagement initiatives of training & development, recognition and rewards, we have other initiatives like: “Essar-Cares” under the Health and Wellness banner designed for providing/enabling employees to lead healthier and risk free lives; and “Essar – Beyond Work” which strives towards building a more participative, motivated, enthusiastic culture and increase the “happiness & satisfaction quotient”. Besides this, we have the “Employee Assistance Program” (EAP) which outlines our intent for supporting our employees through hardships, worries and crises in their personal or work lives. The EAP program aims to provide employees, confidential access to professional counseling services confronting any problems or worries employees might have around their personal or work life.
While executing projects across some of the tough geographies like Papua New Guinea, there has been conscious effort to contribute to the local community well-being. Our operations not only foster training and development of skills amongst the local people that are hired, but there are proactive CSR initiatives taken up as per requirements. These could be in the form of HIV awareness programmes, participation in local community festivals/ events to enable cultural exchange.
